Welcome to the 2008 Rotary Kingfish Tournament

The Rotary Club of Clearwater proudly welcomes you to the 2008 "Fishing for Charities" Kingfish Tournament to be held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Clearwater Yacht Club on Clearwater Beach. This unique fishing tournament demonstrates the importance of partnership - both on the water and in the community. Thanks to your help, the biggest winners of the Kingfish Tournament are local charities. In the last 15 years, the Rotary Club of Clearwater has donated over $750,000 to local charities from the proceeds of this tournament.

The Rotary Kingfish Tournament is exciting and extremely competitive. Prizes totalling $8,000 in cash, along with trophies, will be awarded to the five winning anglers. Additionally, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded in a Children's Division. The tournament is limited to the first 125 boats to be officially registered. The entry deadline is March 31, 2008 to guarantee your entry and receive the discounted early entry price.

This year's mandatory Captain's Meeting & Party will take place in beautiful Coachman Park located just off the Intercoastal Waterway in downtown Clearwater. The Captain's Party, on Friday, April 11, promises to be a great time for all to gather prior to the tournament. All participating Captains or their representatives must be present. Captain's check-in and social begin at 6 p.m. Distribution of the Captain's buckets, review of the rules and evaluation of the competition will occur at the 7 p.m. meeting.

The Weigh-In for the Saturday tournament will occur at the Clearwater Yacht Club.

We want to thank all of the sponsors, donors, anglers, volunteers and committee members whose hard work and generosity make this tournament a continuing success story. The Kingfish Tournament is the Rotary Club of Clearwater's major fundraiser of the year with 100% of the net proceeds being donated to local and international Rotary charities..
