The Rotary Club of Clearwater
Gives Habitat for Humanity More
Than a Helping Hand

The Rotary Club of Clearwater teamed up with Habitat for Humanity in the construction of

Fred Robbins, President '99
a new home which was dedicated to Robert and Deborah and their two children on August 26, 2000. The home is located at 700 North Garden Ave., Clearwater, Florida.

As sponsors, the Rotary Club provided $45,000 in cash and in-kind contributions. Nearly every member contributed to the house in one form or another.

Robert Richardson, new home owner, and George Hardy
One core group of Rotary Volunteers showed up almost every week during construction. They were: Bob Burwell, Dave Edmonds, Jim Grove, Scott Hale, George Hardy, Dave Perkins, and Joel Guinand.

George Hardy estimated that each of these men gave more than 150 hours each.
"It was a wonderful opportunity,"

Jim Grove, retired Veterinarian
said Hardy. "A lot of the guys were not that experienced when we first started,
but they became very skilled in a short period of time. We met a lot of wonderful people and

Joel Guinand, George Smith, Diane Smith and Dewey Williams
became much closer as a group." Various churches and school groups also contributed time and support for this worthy project. Thanks to all Rotarians.
