Charities 2000 - 2001

A total of $40,000 was distributed among the following charities supported by the 2000 - 2001 programs and projects of the Rotary Club of Clearwater. Each year these funds are raised through the club's primary fundraiser, the Annual Kingfish Tournament.

  • Kimberly Home Pregnancy Center
    Kimberly Home is a non-profit, non-denominational pregnancy care center which provides counseling, referrals, and assistance with material items to women experiencing distressed, unplanned, or otherwise troubling pregnancies. The facility opened on March 14, 1983, and during the first year provided services to 215 women. Over the past fifteen years, that number has increased to over 2500 per year. The agency works in cooperation with other helping agencies, both public and private, to become part of the community support system.

  • UPARC
    The Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc., (UPARC) exists to enhance the dignity and independence of persons who are developmentally disabled in the Upper Pinellas area, and to enable
    individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities to choose and realize their goals of where and how to live, learn, work, and play.

  • Suncoast Children's Dream Fund
    The Suncoast Children's Dream Fund, founded in 1981, is the oldest wish granting organization in Florida, serving children between the ages of 3-18 with life-threatening illnesses.

  • The Rotary Foundation

  • The Endowment Fund of the Rotary Club of Clearwater

  • Clearwater High School Un-funded or Under-funded Sports:
